WÖRNER – Textil & Technik ⎪ Technische Gestricke aus Deutschland
Our company was founded in 1968 by Walter Wörner as a knitwear manufacturing business in Pfullingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.Originally specializing in the production of high-quality knitwear for premium fashion brands, the company shifted its focus to technical textiles in the mid-1990s.
Today, this highly specialized field offers a wide range of applications, driven by the unique functional properties of technical knitted fabrics.
As an owner-managed company, we take a long-term approach to everything we do. Quality, reliability, and responsibility are the principles that guide our daily actions.
Our employees combine many years of experience with outstanding technical expertise, ensuring consistently high product quality and strong development capabilities.
Our strength lies not in individual departments, but in the seamless collaboration between all areas of the business.
At WÖRNER, development, production, finishing, and assembly work hand in hand—from the initial idea to a product ready for series production.
We do not develop technical knitted fabrics in isolation, but in close collaboration with our customers. Materials, knitting technologies, and textile constructions are carefully engineered to meet the specific functional, mechanical, and application requirements of each project.
Advanced technologies such as 3D knitting open up new possibilities for integrated functionality, complex geometries, and material-efficient solutions.
Our production is designed for precision and flexibility. With gauge ranges from E3 to E18, we manufacture everything from coarse, robust structures to ultra-fine technical knitted fabrics. Digital process control, short changeover times, and reproducible manufacturing processes enable cost-effective small production runs as well as reliable high-volume production.
In our finishing and assembly department, we enhance our knitted fabrics with additional functional elements. Using specialised sewing equipment, we integrate materials such as leather and plastics directly into the knitted structure. The result is textile solutions with added functionality, enhanced stability, and greater design flexibility—without unnecessary interfaces.
On request, we provide the assembly of complete assemblies or finished products. From final inspection and labelling to customer-specific packaging, we deliver ready-to-install solutions. Custom-developed testing and inspection fixtures ensure consistent quality and reliable manufacturing processes.
We develop technical knitted fabrics for applications including filtration and catalytic converter systems, as well as electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding. Close collaboration with universities and research institutions supports our continuous innovation and ongoing product development.
